Navratri 2020

Navratri is a Hindu festival that is celebrated for nine days every year in the autumn. The word 'Navratri' is derived from two sanskrit words, 'Nava' means nine and 'Ratri' means night.  It is celebrated for various reasons in different regions of India.However, in this blog I've covered only one story, that is of Goddess Durga's victory over an evil demon Mahishaasurr and restored Dharma.  Celebrations include worshiping nine Goddess in nine days, stage setting, fasting, plays, dramas, and bonfire. The nine days are solely dedicated to nine different avatars of Goddess Durga-Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Sidhidatri.  How I celebrated Navratri this year!  Honestly, Navaratri is one of my most favorite festivals and every year I eagerly wait for this one.
